The Limburg Cup is regarded as one of Europe's leading international Easter soccer tournaments. Your team is invited to participate in the 5th annual edition.Approx. 140 teams from 6 different countries are expected to participate in 2007. The Limburg Cup tournament is open to all teams that are members of their FIFA affiliated national associations.

Situated in Limburg, in the south of the Netherlands. Venray is located approx. 40 km east of Eindhoven, 45 km south of Nijmegen and 100 km north of Maastricht. The tournament will be played on 20 first class soccer fields located on the sports facilities of the soccer clubs SV Venray, SV Oostrom and SV Merselo (all within 3 km from each other).

Tournament Format

All teams will be playing a minimum of 6 tournament games spread over Saturday and Sunday.

In the first round all teams play in groups of 4 or 5 teams. All teams in 1 group will be playing against each other once on the Saturday.

On Sunday the second round starts. All teams that qualify as number 1 or 2 in the 1st round groups will be playing in the 2nd round -A-. All other teams from the 1st round will be playing in the 2nd round -B-. In both the 2nd round -A- as well as -B- finals all teams are placed in groups of 4 or 5 teams again and play each other once. The 2nd round group winners play the (semi-) finals.

The tournament organization reserves the right (if needed) to make adjustments to the above mentioned tournament format.

Tournament Regulations

The Limburg Cup is sanctioned by - and will be played according to the regulations of the K.N.V.B. (Royal Dutch Soccer Federation) except for cases as mentioned specifically in the tournament regulations. These tournament regulations will be available on request.
